"Imagine" censuré aux États-Unis

TV5 a annoncé ce matin, au journal de 10 h, qu'une chaîne de radios qui possède plus de mille stations aux États-Unis a exigé que la chanson "Imagine" de John Lennon ne soit plus diffusée sous prétexte qu'elle est subversive !

A vous de juger (en VO et en français).

""Imagine" banned in the U.S.

[The French TV channel] TV5 has announced in its 10 A.M. magazine program this morning that a radio chain which owns several thousand radio stations in the U.S. has demanded that the song "Imagine" by John Lennon should not be played any more on air, under the pretext that it was subversive!

Make your own judgment about this! .... Patrick"

If this be true, folks, we are in big trouble, although I do not know which radio stations we are talking about -- anyone have a clue?? Censorship of pop songs is the end of the road (last time you had that was in the Soviet Union...). But before it disappears forever, here are those "subversive" lyrics:

Imagine
Imagine there's no heaven,
It's easy if you try,
No hell below us,
Above us only sky,
Imagine all the people
living for today...
Imagine there's no countries,
It isn't hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for,
No religion too,
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...
Imagine no possessions,
I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
A brotherhood of man,
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...
You may say Im a dreamer,
but I'm not the only one,
I hope some day you'll join us,
And the world will live as one.
