9/11 March Airs on Democracy Now!
by Evan Davis
On National Public Radio (NPR) last weekend I heard a mention of a march from the Pentagon to NYC being led by families of the victims of the 9-11 bombings. NPR gave it all of 3 seconds. No interviews, no names, no explanations at all. Elsewhere in the same broadcast they gave ample time to several pieces that I regarded as "fluff" (entertainment rather than news). That same day there was no mention of the march in The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Chicago Tribune or our local paper - what's it called?
Democracy Now, of course featured the story and broadcast interviews with three of the participants yesterday.
In summary;
Families of 9-11 victims lead march from Pentagon to N.Y.C. coverage:
NPR 3 seconds
New York Times zilch
Los Angeles Times zippo
Chicago Tribune nada
Dispatch rien
most commercial media niet!
