THE DARK IS RISING

By Ken Fox

The dark is rising

With a profound no sound -

Growing up around our feet -

A deadly silence in the streets -

Cover the children's eyes

They must not see their parents

Apathy, lethargy and lies

As America slips way,

Leaving their children

Only the shadows of yesterday!!!!

Time

Now

Seems frozen

Yet, the dark keeps rising

The light is ever closing

Has this become a wasteland?

A story book of dreams?

Surrounded by a thousand schemes...

And schemers

It's hard to see the edges

Harder yet to see the center

Harder to get out

Harder yet to enter
